Directions to The Stable Bothy
By road
Coming from the south, take the A9 north from Inverness for approximately 48 miles, then turn left at The Mound onto the A839 - signposted Rogart and Lairg - for a further 7 miles. We provide detailed directions for guests on how to find the Stable Bothy once you’ve reached Rogart. It’s just over an hour’s drive from Inverness.
By air
The closest airport is Inverness Airport which is just over 60 miles away and connects with several UK airports including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Luton, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester. You can also fly into Aberdeen (150 miles), Edinburgh (206 miles) or Glasgow (229 miles) airports but would then have a longer drive to the bothy. There’s a range of car hire companies with locations in Inverness town centre and also at Inverness airport.
By rail
You can arrive in Inverness by train from a variety of UK locations, including the Caledonian Sleeper train which travels overnight between London Euston and Inverness. It is possible to travel on by rail to Rogart but we strongly recommend that guests bring a car to allow flexibility for exploring.
